Statistics New Zealand estimate that Tauranga will have the second highest percentage growth nationally behind Auckland between 2006 and 2031. The population following the last census in 2006 was 103635, and we are growing by approximately 50 people (net) every week. Forecasts predict that we will have a population of 116306 by the year 2011. Papamoa East has been highlighted as a key area of this growth within the region.
